III. Post-Listening Exercise [Top]
1. Read the audiotranscript with a partner or change some of the information to adapt it to your situation.

2. Write the first part of a recommendation letter for advanced study, which includes an: Introduction and your (or your teacher's) qualification for making such a recommendation. View the accompanying Power Point presentation on details of how to write this paragraph.

3. Write four questions beginning with "How" when recommending someone for advanced study, and then answer them. The question does not have to come directly from the listening exercise.
Example: How did Sherry Lu contribute to the class?
Answer: She inspired other students to participate more actively.
Example: How did you reach your decision to apply to the University of Washington?
My academic advisor strongly recommended the university's strong graduate program in Chemical Engineering.
