2. Write a paragraph describing why you selected an institution for advanced study. View the accompanying Power Point presentation on details of how to write this paragraph.

3. Write four questions beginning with "Why" when stating why an institution was selected for advanced study, and then answer them. The question does not have to come directly from the listening exercise.
Example: Why do you want to apply to the Department of Information Science at MIT?
Answer: Because of the faculty's frequent publications in prestigious journals
Example: Why did your professor recommend Indiana University for doctorate studies?
Answer: Because of its state-of-the-art research facilities
