1. Read the audiotranscript with a partner or change some of the information to adapt it to your situation.

2. Write a paragraph describing your research and/or professional experiences. If you do not have any, then write a paragraph describe those of someone else. View the accompanying Power Point presentation on details of how to write this paragraph.

3. Write four questions beginning with "Where" when asking someone about their research and professional experiences, and then answer them. The question does not have to come directly from the listening exercise.
Example: Where did John audit management courses?
Answer: the Institute of Technology Management at National Taiwan University
Example: Where did you receive so many academic awards and citations?
Answer: National Chiao Tung University

4. Ask a person two questions beginning with "Where" about his or her work or research experiences. Write down each question and its one or two sentence reply. You can select from among the following questions from the above listening exercise as models for the questions that you ask:
Where were the several international conferences that John attended held?
Where did John learn how to publish a research paper?
Where did John audit management courses?
Where did John enhance his research abilities?
Where did John learn how modern management practices are related?
